Well, it was as I expected:
Last week: 185.6 lb
This week: 187.4 lb
Total gained this week: 1.8 lb
Weight loss target: 181.8 lb
To reach target: 5.6 lb
It's a little frustrating when I think how close I was to my next weight loss target and that I've only gained since then - but I'm dedicated and focused on really getting back on track now. I'm going to log my points and make the right choices and get back into the exercising groove, because that's how I want my lifestyle to be. Sure, I've enjoyed what I've eaten over the past two weeks and I've luxuriated a bit in my laziness but I don't like how I look and feel when I do that (and how I feel is more important than how I look) so I'm going to keep working at making the changes to get to a place where I always like how I feel.
I didn't have time for a workout today, mostly because I spent 4 hours cleaning the condo. I scrubbed the fridge so good I don't need no weights! But housework counts for activity points and the place looks great, so it's a double win!
Here's to better results next week!
Chronicling the ups and downs of weight loss while still enjoying all the good things life has to offer.

Out with the old, in with the...old
Every time a new season rolls around, I want to go shopping. I particularly like spring because of all the bright, pretty colours that come with the season and this year, coral is a big trend and my current colour obsession so all I want to do is wander around the mall and look at pretty clothes. Coral combined with stripes and my world is complete.
The problem is that my closet and drawers are filled to bursting with so many things I don't wear/like/fit/want - so today I finally buckled down and went through my clothes. Two big bags of donation clothing later, my closet and drawers could breathe again. Do you know what else could breathe? Me. In jeans that were too tight a mere six months ago.
HUZZAH!
I also discovered I can get into a denim skirt that used to be too tight and I'm fitting better into some other clothes. So here I was thinking I needed more denim - but I already have what I need and I look smoking in it too.
I've also been searching for blazers for what feels like forever, with no luck finding anything that fits. But then...on Thursday after work I stopped by the Goodwill near my office and picked up two blazers for $10 total. And one blazer is from Holt Renfrew. SCORE.
So a mere $10 and a little bit of work and I've got two new blazers, a pair of jeans and a skirt to rock this spring. That totally makes up for forgoing Easter chocolate this year.

Cleanliness is next to happiness
I am not a neat-freak. Never have been, never will be. That said, I do appreciate a clean, tidy and well-organized home. (But it should also looked lived-in; I get freaked out when I'm in someone's home and everything is so perfect that I feel terrified to breathe too much.)
I try to keep things clean and tidy, because I want to be ready just in case I get a call one afternoon from friends who are in the area and could they pop 'round for a cup of tea and a chat? While the odds of this happening are about eleventy-billion*-to-one, I like the idea of being ready just in case. Another reason this is important to me is because my mental happiness is increased greatly if the condo is presentable.
When I moved in about a year ago, the Beau had been living in his condo for about five years. Anyone who has lived alone for even a fraction of that time knows that you not only accumulate things over five years but you fill the space you have with what you accumulate over five years. We worked together and purged and tidied and reorganized and have had a great set-up since I arrived; we've even been able to rearrange the furniture a couple of times, which is a pretty great option to have in a Toronto condo.
So, despite our condo-sized space and plethora of stuff, we've been able to find a happy medium of tidy and keeping the place tidy makes me happy, so this year I'm going to work on keeping a happy level of tidy at all times. Really, it's as simple as spending 10 minutes after work hanging my clothes up and washing my lunch containers. And it will be worth it for that one time I get that call, saying "How about we come by for tea?"
*"That's not even a real number"
"Yet."
